John 15:5

Remain in me and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Revival, Tornadoes, and Pizza

The past few weeks have been interesting to say the least. Not only am I now completely busy with classes, but fall schedule has started up which includes Monday night BBB, Tuesday night Youth Night, Wednesday night...well nothing yet, Thursday night Intermediate band twice a month, and Friday night partying it up! :) haha..just kidding. But I am so loving school right now! I decided on a major! :) Family Studies....Basically social work with more of a focus on the family, and how to fix the problem instead of enable it. I'm super excited and I can't wait to get deeper into the major! :) I've had my first exams in 2 of my classes and they went well! Midterms are in a week so keep my brain in your prayers!

Corps programs are awesome! :) We've only had one youth night, but still. I forgot how much I like just sitting with kids and talking tothem about whatever they want to talk about. Funny story..I was talking to one of the kids that comes to youth night from the club and I was telling him he should come to camp next summer, which means that he would have to keep coming to Youth Night. He said..."Oh, does that mean I have to sit in those boring benches and listen to an old guy talk about God?" Funny, but also sad that this is the only mental picture this kid has of church and of God. Hopefully as I keep talking to him I can show him how exciting God really is and how its not just about church.
I've been in some of the Gospel Arts things at the corps as well..usually not my thing, but I'm learning! We did a choreodrama on Sunday that was really intense. I'm also playing with the praise band at the corps which is one of my favorite things in the world to do..although I should take some lessons or something so I can play better! But I'm using what I have now to serve God, which is rewarding.

This week we're having a revival at the corps! Tony Perez is our guest. It's been a long time since I've seen him!! Hard to believe that it was only 5 years ago, because it seems like a lifetime ago! He's preaching on Holiness, which is so interesting, but challenging. Last night the basketball team from the club came and sat in church. Most of them went to the alter and got saved last night. It's so moving when you see the Holy Spirit at work, I am in awe every time I see it happen. Every night this week we have a service. I'm excited to see how God will work in us and in Captain Perez this week. Saturday we have a concert of praise! I can't wait! I'll definitely update on Saturday after the concert! It should be a good time.

Today I'm chilling at Melinda's and every few minutes I get a text message from the weather channel (i know..who signs up for text messages from the weather channel haha) saying that there's a tornado watch!!! Scary!!!! I don't think I ever remember a tornado watch since I've been in Maryland! Crazy weather!!! We do need the rain though, and I'm loving sitting here listening to it hit the ground. There's little rivers in the back yard of the apartments because the rain is falling so fast! Crazy!! Okay well until next time!

Keep my family in your prayers. :)
